Head of Technology

Position Overview:

Yirifi.ai is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Technology to drive the development and growth of our digital asset risk management platform. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, possess strong web3 and crypto knowledge, and be capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams. As a Head of Technology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product roadmap and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Hands-On Involvement: 

• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team.

• Be actively involved in the technical aspects of the solution/build, ensuring you understand and contribute to the development process.

• Ensure that the team follows best practices, coding standards, and maintains a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Technical Strategy and Proactive Thinking:

• Work closely with the various stakeholders to define and execute the technical strategy of the company.

• Proactively think about how technology needs to be built or implemented in the product/organization workflow.

• Align technical decisions with the overall business objectives.

Team Management: 

• Recruit, hire, and lead a high-performing engineering team. 

• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. 

• Develop and mentor team members to help them reach their full potential.

• Participate in the recruitment process for engineering roles, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.

Project and Product Management: 

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all engineering projects. 

• Collaborate with the product management team to ensure that technical requirements align with product goals and customer needs.

Technical Strategy: 

• Work closely with the various stakeholders to define and execute the technical strategy of the company. 

• Align technical decisions with the overall business objectives.

Architecture and Development: 

• Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and secure software systems. 

• Make decisions regarding the technology stack, architectural choices, and coding practices.

Code Quality and Reviews: 

• Ensure that code quality is maintained through regular code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to coding standards. 

• Monitor and address technical debt.

Agile Development: 

• Implement agile development methodologies and processes such as Scrum or Kanban to improve productivity and project delivery.

Resource Planning and Allocation: 

• Manage the allocation of engineering resources, including developers, QA engineers, and technical specialists, to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

Cost Management: 

• Collaborate with the CFO to manage the technology costs (cloud, subscriptions, resources) are managed tightly making informed decisions about resource allocation, tooling, and infrastructure investments.

Technical Documentation: 

• Ensure that technical documentation is comprehensive and up-to-date, including architecture diagrams, API documentation, and development guidelines.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: 

• Identify technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Vendor and Tool Selection: 

• Evaluate and select third-party tools, libraries, and services that can enhance the development process and improve efficiency.

Performance Monitoring: 

• Implement tools and practices for monitoring the performance of the product, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing system performance.

Data Security and Compliance: 

• Collaborate with the various stakeholders to establish and enforce data security measures and regulatory compliance, especially in industries with strict compliance requirements.

Innovation: 

• Encourage a culture of innovation within the engineering team. 

• Promote the development of new features and technologies that can differentiate the company in the market.

• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and technologically relevant

Stakeholder Communication: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and customer support, to ensure alignment and effective communication.

User Feedback and Improvement: 

• Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to drive product improvements and enhancements.
